Another busy day of 300 miles+ driving, rather less tedious than yesterday, but what it really brought home was the total lunacy of having no speed limit on German Autobahns!!! That’s in the same league of political weakness and expediency as flights to Rwanda and US Gun Laws….
It’s especially dangerous in a right hand drive vehicle because every time you move into the outside lane you take your life in your hands that some German lunatic in a BMW or Audi is not coming up on what for us is the inside lane at 120 mph or more. Caught me out twice…. very scary!!!
Nice Danish people drive more sensibly, but given the [incorrect!] weather forecast lots of Germans were heading north for a weekend of sunshine and a few of them brought their driving habits with them…..
Somewhat to my surprise, we had to Q to get into Denmark from Germany, what was that all about???
Just waved us through, no paperwork required and the mandatory chase car to pursue bad people was unmanned!!!
Speaking of which, here is the early Q for the ferry at the Hartshals terminal: not many vehicles yet, but a steady drizzle – can’t really complain, first i’ve had!!!
Soon filled up but it’s a desolate hole: can you believe no loos when hundreds of folks are parked up there for hours waiting to be checked in??? Enterprising motorhome owners could probably pay for their ferry ride renting out their loos!!! Had to resort to Bush Toilet…..
And definately no coffee…..

Answer: absolutlely nothing at all, apart from the fact that the Danish company that makes them happens to have the same name….
There was i about to conjure up a modern parable about a forward looking company switching from providing folks with tiny, weenie little sticks to light up their lucifers, to producing absolutely gigantic sticks to help save the planet!!!
Never mind, i told you i was desparate…..
