Another great day’s drive today – about 250 miles – stunning weather and a clear blue sky meant all the fjords and lakes were blue and very still, so lots of reflections of the mountains and the forests.

This is the view just before i left Reine this morning: you can see Reinebryggen the peak i climbed yesterday. No real ill effects first thing after a good night’s sleep, but getting in and out of the Cat was pretty painful: stiff calves!!! No ill effects from the tumble either – just my pride….
It is too easy to get blase about the wonderful Norwegian Landscape: but here is a selection of the pics i took today:

The final pic is of some hardy Norwegians having a bathing party in the fjord just outside Narvik!
There have also been some pretty remarkable bridges: the Norwegian government is 100% committed to joining up their very long thin country, up to and including the part that falls inside the Arctic Circle. Same goes for tunnels, lots and lots of them many around 5 or 6 km and several longer than 20 km. Today we also had a couple of the dodgy ones with little or no lighting: those are mostly 2 or 3 kms long, but still pretty scary….. Tunnels don’t photograph well, so here are some bridges!

As already demonstrated Norwegian churches tend to be simple, stylish affairs – here is a rather ornate exception….
Quite a long drive tomorrow – about 300 miles from Narvik to Alta, our final stop before we get to Nordkapp, the most northerly point on the European mainland. More about that when we get there…….
That peak looks straight up and down, not surprised your legs are stiff! The scenery seems to be stunning in every place you have been, you will have to put together a photo book to keep. Looking forward to more tomorrow xx
